What is a Doula?
Doula is a Greek word literally translated to mean "mother to a mother".
As a doula I provide
Infant Care:
• Bathing, holding, demonstrations of soothing techniques, feeding
Emotional Support for the Family:
• Helping to process one’s birth story, encouragement, active listening
Basic Household Maintenance:
• Preparing a meal, folding laundry, running errands, tidying up living spaces
Physical Support:
• Assisting with breastfeeding obstacles, entertaining older siblings, answering the phone, providing referrals when necessary
